PLP has far reaching and lasting benefits according to clients.  Here are a selection of comments from very satisfied users of the PLP process.

"There was immediate need to introduce a leadership process that was consistent from the most senior levels of management to the front line supervisor.  PLP provided the perfect vehicle to rebuild our leadership process to establish a climate of accountability and ensure the best performance and efficiency as quickly as possible. The great thing about PLP is that it is a process of positive reinforcement with no threats and total transparency of actions, no nasty surprises for lack of performance only structured support to enable individuals to achieve a change in behavior.
Many of the participants of PLP found not only was the process invaluable as a tool at work but also made a difference in their personal life and interactions with people outside the workplace.
The fact that we could ‘train trainers’ was invaluable as these individuals became champions of the process and helped establish the it quickly as well as being the go to people for advice and support.
Many of us who went through the training and have moved on to other divisions and bigger jobs have carried the process with us, the ‘Universal Laws’ and the process steps are just as relevant today as back in 1987. I personally don’t travel without the PLP cards outlining the process which I use in helping coach people in their leadership interactions.
In this day when all the talk is about the Gen Y’ers entering the workforce who don’t want a directive leadership style this is a perfect process for giving them the freedom they crave but maintaining the accountability you desire".

"When I was given the opportunity to go through the Positive Leadership Practices with Cardiff Consulting Group, I was at first skeptical about whether PLP could actually do everything I was told. After all, I have been in HR along time and I have been exposed to many different training programs on leadership. I must say, PLP did everything I was told …and more!
The first thing I needed to do was change my way of thinking because PLP is truly a behavior-based leadership process, not a training program. Programs begin and end. However, the PLP process, once learned, continues as an integral part of a person’s leadership method. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this leadership process was centered upon my learning about and understanding the laws which govern human behavior.
It was so refreshing to watch the PLP process become part of the culture of our university wherein now employees are treated as “partners” and have learned to take accountability for their actions. PLP also gave our entire leadership group the tools necessary to build self-confidence and self-esteem as they improved their problem-solving skills.
Equally satisfying for me personally is that PLP enhanced and improved my communication skills and assisted me to improve my interpersonal relationships. An added value to me is that I have been able to transfer use of the PLP process into my personal life. I have never been able to do this with any of the leadership programs I experienced.
As a trainer, I was most intrigued and pleased by the fact the PLP process used real life situations I face every day on the job in the learning sessions, as opposed to make-believe case studies and role plays I was so used to experiencing.
PLP changed and enhanced my leadership style in a positive way forever. I would highly recommend this process to anyone who is interested in enhancing their skill set and learning a life changing process. The people here at the university have given me the credit for a most positive experience and life-altering opportunity. The truth is, however, the credit belongs to CCGI for developing this unique leadership process."

"PLP emphasised individual accountability and was a very effective behavior-based leadership process which enabled my leaders to improve and change their specific actions to get results.  My guys developed the "partner" mentality I wanted from them as EVP and CFO of the global organisation and moved away from a process worker mentality. As it was said " we came out of the kitchen and onto the dining room table ".   When a behavior was not effective, a discussion was held to determine if there are any hindering norms and also to assist the individual get back on track. We instilled life lasting building self-confidence and problem-solving skills and used "on-the-job" real life situations which participants established themselves and therefore found very relevant to their jobs.
They also developed strong interpersonal relationships and communication skills which they use and applaud to this day. I still get kudos from my former staff for having introduced them to PLP. Some of used it to improve their relationships outside work including with their spouses and children !
Thanks for your help !"

"PLP has completely changed how I communicate both at work and at home on a daily basis. Going through the PLP process has given me a communication toolbox that allows me to clearly articulate my expectations, thereby creating individual accountability, while building the self-esteem and self-confidence of my employees. It allows me to separate the person from the behavior and treat the individual as a partner. I was able to use the skills I learned in PLP the second I stepped out of the training room. It is so completely different from the typical “Management Skills in a Box” training programs used by many companies that are mired in theory. The principals learned in PLP are real world and usable immediately. I attribute a large part of my success, as well as the success of my team, to the skills I learned in the PLP process"

"I think the single most important factor for me was the fact that PLP is a process not a training program. In essence it re-wires your brain and informs the decisions I make on a daily basis with my leadership team, peers, employees and even family.
Recognising the importance of self esteem and empathy were key turning points in my progress toward becoming a more effective leader. The real life situations, group discussions and one-to-one coaching served to introduce and reinforce the new, more positive behavior patterns rather than "train" me in some new language or skill set.
Since participating in PLP the careers of me and my peer group participants have really taken off. Several vice presidents have become chief financial officers. One is now the chief information officer. And I have achieved the goal of taking charge of a business group as the general manager. I'm convinced that the passion and excellence associated with PLP contributed in a meaningful way to our successes".

"As both a participant and ultimately a facilitator of Positive Leadership Practices (“PLP”), I would like to offer my insights into this leadership awareness program, how it gave me the skill sets to be a more effective leader and how it continues to affect my business today.
I was introduced to PLP in 1996 when I joined Santa Fe Gaming Corporation as their Vice President of Marketing. Dan Stone, President of Cardiff Consulting Group International, Inc. had just begun to introduce Positive Leadership Practices to senior level executives as well as line managers. It was during my tenure at this company that I was ultimately trained as a PLP facilitator. I saw how PLP turned a company with a dysfunctional employee culture into a highly effective organization.
Today, as a Principal of my own consulting company I continue to rely on the lessons learned in PLP in leading my small yet growing company. I clearly communicate to my employees precisely what is expected of them, measure their performance and keep them abreast on how they are doing. I understand how to separate performance-based and behavior-based issues, address them in a consistent manner and get each employee’s commitment to improve their behavior or performance. When necessary, I apply discipline in a consistent and non-threatening manner. On those rare occasions when I must tell an employee to leave the organization, the discussion is non-threatening and non-confrontational. Using PLP throughout the process, the termination always ends with the employee apologizing for his/her behavior.
Positive Leadership Practices is a highly effective process for any sized organization and one I would whole-heartedly recommend."
Andrew M. Klebanow - Principal - Gaming Market Advisors (Gaming)

PLP had a lasting and positive effect on my behaviour as a leader and a manager. I was also able to affect my direct reports by modeling good behaviour and holding them accountable for interacting with one another in a similar, positive way. Although I had been leading people for many years before learning the PLP process and had gone through many management training "programs," PLP was the first management training that I was able to implement and use consistently and still use to this day.

PLP's emphasis on utilising effective communication skills to get the best out of your employees and to hold them accountable in a positive and structured way is the key to it's usefulness for me.

I think PLP teaches people to be less ego-driven and to work more as “partners," which encourages individuals to be excited and empowered with an emphasis on practices that boost self esteem.

Further, PLP does a great job at teaching tools and behaviours for effective performance management, administering discipline and setting goals and accountabilities for the short term and long term. Because this process training takes the time to let the participants experience these practices in real life situations and then discuss and practice how to do things better and different the next time, the habits are built into behaviours. This has made the behaviours lasting for me and has improved my relationships both professionally and personally.
